- Composition
- Each ml contains: Vitamin K 10 mg, solvent to 1 ml.
- Appearance
- Yellow liquid.
- Indications
- Bleeding due to various causes of vitamin K deficiency.
- Usage and dosage
- Intramuscular or intravenous injection.
For calves: 1 mg/kg body weight.
For dogs and cats: 0.5 - 2 mg/kg body weight.
- Precautions
- 1. Intravenous injections should be given slowly. Do not exceed 10 mg per minute in adult animals and 5 mg per minute in neonatal or young animals.
- 2. Serious reactions, including death, may occur during or after the injection. Therefore, the intravenous dose should not exceed 5 mg in young animals.
- 3. Intravenous injection should be used only when other methods cannot be used.
- 4. Pain, swelling and tenderness may occur at the site of intramuscular injection.
- 5. The injection solution may be diluted to saline for injection, 5% glucose, or 5% glucose saline. The diluted solution should be used immediately and any unused portion discarded.
- 6. High doses may cause hemolytic anemia, hyperbilirubinemia, and jaundice in young animals.
- 7. Vitamin K3 may damage the liver. Therefore, the use of Vitamin K1 is recommended for animals with liver insufficiency.
- 8. Strictly follow the Directions for Use and Dosage. Large doses should not be used for long periods of time.
