- Used for vitamin C deficiency and various infectious diseases, high fever, trauma or burns, also used for anemia, hemorrhagic tendency, methemoglobinemia, atopic dermatitis auxiliary treatment.
- Usage and dosage
- Intramuscularly or intravenously, one-time dose of
Horse: 10 - 30 ml.
Cattle: 20 - 40 ml.
Sheep and pigs: 2 - 5 ml.
Dogs: 0.2 - 1 ml.
- Side effects
- Increased risk of uric acid, oxalic acid or cysteine crystal formation when used in high doses.
- Precautions
- 1. Should not be mixed with alkaline drugs (e.g. sodium bicarbonate, etc.), vitamin B12, vitamin K3, as it is prone to oxidative failure.
- 2. Inactivates aminoglycosides, β-lactam antibiotics, tetracyclines, etc. to varying degrees. Therefore, it should not be mixed with these antibiotics for injection.
- 3. When used in large doses, it can acidify the urine and increase the excretion of certain organic base drugs.
- 4. Large doses can cause diarrhea and urinary calculi.
