- Each gram contains: Amoxicillin Sodium 50 mg, with carrier added to make up 1 gram.
- Description
- Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic broad-spectrum penicillin that has antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Its antimicrobial spectrum includes Campylobacter, Clostridium, Escherichia coli, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Haemophilus, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella, penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus. The bactericidal action of amoxicillin is achieved by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Amoxicillin is primarily excreted through urine, and a portion is also excreted via bile.
- Indications
- Amoxicillin is primarily used to treat infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria that are sensitive to penicillin.
It is applicable for treating symptoms such as fever, anorexia, constipation, recumbency, rapid breathing, and abdominal breathing in poultry and livestock.
It has shown good efficacy in treating conditions in livestock such as influenza, fever of unknown origin, bacterial dysentery, acute gastroenteritis, swine erysipelas, swine pneumonia, piglet diarrhea, paratyphoid, colibacillosis, brucellosis, mycoplasmosis, leptospirosis, mastitis, endometritis, and agalactia syndrome.

Contraindications
- Animals that are allergic to amoxicillin should not use this medication.
Animals with severe renal impairment should not use this medication.
Concurrent use with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides, or lincosamides is contraindicated.

Some livestock may experience allergic reactions, such as edema, although this is relatively rare.

Dosage and Administration

For intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. For livestock, administer 5-10 mg of amoxicillin per kilogram of body weight once daily; or 10-20 mg per kilogram of body weight every other day.
